the iNNiTi effect’s managing director, Alexandra Poole, will give expert insight into succeeding in business and her own entrepreneurial story as guest speaker at the Young Enterprise Company of the Year 2019 London regional finals at Canary Wharf on 3rd June.
Young Enterprise is the national charity that fosters and promotes entrepreneurship amongst students, by enabling and empowering them to develop practical personal and business skills. This prestigious awards programme celebrates the talented young people changing the face of UK business, and is the precursor to the grand finale of the 2019 Young Enterprise’s flagship company programme.
Over the course of the year, thousands of young people from hundreds of schools located across the UK, The Channel Islands and Gibraltar have set up and run student businesses, battling it out in local and regional competitions. Fourteen teams compete at the final, and the overall UK winner will be crowned at the Company of the Year finals on 18th June. The winner will go on to represent the UK at the Junior Achievement Company of the Year Final which is taking place in Lille, France in July with President Macron in attendance.
Alexandra credits Young Enterprise with igniting her passion for business when she was younger, when she ran a small company ‘Vivre’ as part of the scheme: “I’m absolutely delighted to be invited back as guest speaker at the Young Enterprise Company of the Year Award London regional finals.
“The scheme is close to my heart, as it helped me on the road to where I am today and gave me essential skills that I wouldn’t have developed in school, and I am passionate about supporting them in developing the workforce of the future. I’m really looking forward to hearing more about the London regional finalists and their innovative businesses.”
